Taking Breaks is Key to Productivity

If you are the type of person who doesn't take breaks and thinks that it can lessen your productivity, you may want to change your mindset as a lot of studies show that taking breaks even for 10 minutes can get you back on track and provide you renewed energy. Some of us think that it is just a waste of time, but if you check on the impact and benefits, you will be surprised at how this can benefit an employee.


Breaks can improve your concentration.

When you take breaks, your brain is allowed to rest from stress and the fatigue of work. They say that our brains have two types of modes; focused and diffused mode. The focused mode is used while we are working or learning something. Diffused mode, on the other hand, is more relaxed, and if we are not thinking that hard, it kind of goes into in daydream mode. This will also help clear your mind from the work you are doing. Non-stop focus on your work for hours will leave you drained. Burn out can also be prevented by taking a real vacation, leaving all your distractions.
